Papier Mache

page 1

OK so I am an online magazine junky. But rest assured I don't just read anything that is out there. I do have standards. Everytime that Papier-Mache brings out anything to read or look at it is golden.

Go forth look, read and enjoy.

And start preparing for the paper edition coming out in August sometime. They've got a great subscription deal at the moment. You'd be crazy if you let that one slide!!

The Land Of Nod

I can't tell you how excited we are to hear that the Land Of Nod has finally released a crib bedding range aptly named 'Under the Big Top'. We were thrilled when they approached us wanting to use our illustrations from the decal 'faraway circus'. Quite taken back actually!

Land of Nod had humble beginnings but are now part of the Crate and Barrel empire in the US. If you've never heard of them... then A you don't live in the US and B you are about to learn about a whole new world in catalogue / online and instore shopping that has delighted more than the average bedroom out there.

If you feel like straying off on their site... which I'm sure you will... be sure to check our the artist feature on mae before you get carried away. The illustration is of the lovely Bec.

Paper Craft Tutorial: Large Flower Blossoms

We have had quite a few people ask us how we made the paper flower blossoms in the bedding photos. A while ago I posted a tutorial on how to make small paper blossoms but I modified it to make giant ones.

With the launch of the new wrapping paper designs we will be releasing paper craft tutorials monthly. This month here is the tutorial on how to make the large flower blossoms.
(You can click to download a copy to make later).

Hey Maker!

Hey Maker needs your help!!

One of the most adorable collectives I've seen in a while, Hey Maker is calling for help. A truly giving and gifted bunch of woman (5 in total) are desperately seeking funding. They need to find a studio space and share their love... and their art and craft connections. Based in a town called Murwillumbah (which is very nearby the Love Mae studio in Stokers Siding) and we want to wish them the best for all their efforts.

They are normally the givers and so hopefully this comes around to put a smile on their faces when we all help them get the space they need. At the moment they are calling for financial help so they can get started with their plans.... courses for the creatively inclined. You can help by going to Pozible Campaign to donate however small or large to their cause. You'll also find on this link alot more information about the lovely ladies and their aspirations.

I think that every town needs a 'Hey Maker' ... a place where any age can sign up for a course of their tastes and learn in a space that is both nurturing and inviting. Hopefully when they get started this sort of thing rolls out to all the small communities out there.
